Our Swimmer

Lillie tried out for our local swim team, the Dothan Dolphins, in June and made it.  She started practicing almost every weekday for 45 minutes and had her first meet this month.  I think she did a great job considering she had no idea what to do, other than to swim.

My favorite thing about this meet was that even though she lost her goggles on one event as she dove in, she just kept swimming.  (Did anyone else just hear Dory's voice in their head???)  For 50 meters.  With no goggles.

The Tuesday after the meet, her coach asked her if she wanted to move up to the next level.  She said she could hardly contain her excitement and wanted to jump up and scream.  But instead she said, "Yes, sir."  So instead of 3 days of 45 minutes, she began training for almost 2 hours a day for 3 days a week.

I'm so thankful she has found something she enjoys.  We've been through several sports and none appealed to her at all.  Hopefully swimming is the one!
